I have been having this shirt in my closet since July and I finally got the chance to rock it this past Saturday for my bestie Sharissa's, sister Tayona's b-day!!! We all hit up Bar Louie for dinner and drinks and had a fantastic time. We laughed, dance and ate!!! It is always an adventure when me and my girls get together. We never know what's going to happen. 

On a side note Barack Obama is officially our 44th President and I couldn't be more happier to be an American and a Black American at that!!!

MY NEW ISH

During the spring and summer I was all about pastels and floral prints but now that the winter is approaching I have totally switched up my style. This winter I will going for a masculine look with a feminine twist. To achieve this look I have ordered these pieces. I can't wait to rock them all!!

BEAUTIFUL PEOPLE

I really felt good about myself with I wore this outfit over the summer to Soho Restaurant and Lounge. I felt sexy and girly all at the same time. The part I liked the most was my makeup. I did a cotton candy colored eye and it received rave reviews from all of my girlfriends.

When I wore this look last year me and my boyfriend were in the mist of a breakup. What you couldn't see in the picture and what I was trying to so desperately trying to hide was how sad I was.Thankfully, he and I found our way back to each other and are better than ever.

1 YEAR ANNIVERSARY

BOW TIES AND BARRETTES 1 YEAR ANNIVERSARY!!!

One year ago after becoming obsessed over some of my fav fashion blogs I decided to create my very own blog. I didn't know if anyone would like it or even care to view it but I took a leap out on faith and it worked. I am happy to say because of all of you that Bow Ties and Barrettes has become a success!!! I can not say thank you enough for the support. Over the next week I will be showcasing some of my favorite looks over the past year. I hope my picks are some of yours as well. Enjoy!!

Anytime I get the chance to hit up 2720 Cherokee I jump at it. It is one of the hippest places in St. Louis to go. The people there aren't pretentious or trying too hard to get notice. Everyone there does their own thing and kicks it to the fullest. This past Saturday, Tashanna and I attended the "20 Years Later An Adventure Back in Hip Hop in 1992" event at 2720 Cherokee and it was awesome. Me and Tashanna vibed out to the music and danced our butts off.

We did however have a douchebag moment. This guy comes up to the bar and tries to hit on Tashanna. He not only tells her that he's married but that his wife is on the dance floor. Tashanna and I were outdone by the blatant disrespect. I felt so sorry for his poor unsuspecting wife. Dudes these day's be actin' up, I tell you!!!
